With over 15 years of experience as a Human Resources (HR) professional, Heather has vast experience across multiple practice areas of HR including;

She is a federally approved investigator on the Canadian Centre of Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) listing and received her certification of Advanced Investigation Techniques from Rubin Thomlinson LLP. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Studies from Mount Royal University (Calgary, AB) and a CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) Candidate designation through HRIA (Human Resources Institute of Alberta). As a trained workplace investigator, her experience spans to include investigation of cases of workplace bullying, harassment, violence, and/or sexual harassment.

With recent changes to both federal and provincial legislation, (Violence & Harassment Regulations,  Bill C-65 and the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, OH&S, Part 27), employers have an obligation and a defined responsibility to ensure the provision of a safe and respectful workplace. In some cases, specific steps need to be taken by a neutral, third party. These situations are typically complex and have the potential to expose an organization to elevated risk, if, they are not handled and addressed in a timely and appropriate manner, with the utmost confidentiality.
